Today we met to make a summary of the book. The students will use the summary to insert into a "poster" on Glogster.com as their final project for the book. This is the summary we came up with as a group:

First, Harry realizes he has lost his library card and it's not the first time he has lost one.

Next, he remembers the first time he lost his card when his dog Girl (who lives with his aunt because his dad is allergic) ate it. The second time was when his dad washed it in the washer and dried it in the drier.

Then, Harry remembers that he put his third card somewhere safe but he can't remember where that is.

After that, Harry finds out when they were kids, his mom was organized but his dad was always losing things, even himself. So Harry thinks it won't be so bad to tell his dad he lost a third library card.

Then, Harry tells Mrs. Katz, the librarian, that he lost another card. She gives him a new one but the plan is to keep the card at her desk so he won't lose it again.

Lastly, they end up finding the card in his Aunt Rose's piano bench.

Assignment for next time:
1. Reread whole book aloud to someone.
2. Practice retelling the whole book aloud (with all the details) aloud to someone.
